Harrismith
Galvanizing & Steel Profiles is ideally situated
in the heart of South Africa: Harrismith, Free State Province.
We're on the major national freeway to provide a guaranteed
48 to 72 hour turn-around time to clients in the Free
State, Gauteng, Mpumalanga, North Western, Limpopo and
Kwazulu-Natal Province. We operate 3 x 8hr shifts every week day and if the need arises, we also operate 3 Saturday shifts. Our current capacity is 2500 tonnes per month, however, our plant will be undergoing expansion to accommodate greater volumes of production. We operate a large fleet of over 10 commercial vehicles, of which the majority are capable of carrying loads of over 28 tonnes per trip.
We're also the first & only B.E.E.
Galvanizer in the Free State Province. All work
carried out is done in accordance with stringent SABS
ISO1461 standards.
Being a major player in the Harrismith region with regards
to socio-economic empowerment, we were approached by the
Free State Government to further assign our business capabilities
towards empowering the local communities in the region.
Thereby we felt it is our obligation to establish the
first galvanizing establishment in the Free State Province
with the help from Government incentives.
This new
plant for Hot Dip Galvanizing in Harrismith
will be the first in this area and will cover an area of 60,000m2
with two covered factories of 4,000m2 with ample scope for expansion.
The actual size of the Galvanizing kettle is 12m long x 1,2m
wide x 2,5m deep which will be able to take all shape of structures,
steel columns, strips, sheets, tubes, octagonal and high mast
poles. The high quality of our galvanized products is apparent
for the reason being that our overhead crane height is in excess
of 14 meters, ensuring clean run-off of zinc.
Another
first for the Harrismith region is Harrismith Galvanizing’s
own Steel Profile Making Plant, which will
enhance the Free State Province with a huge production capacity
for the construction industry.
What makes us unique is our ability to supply and deliver
fully galvanized purlins. We can design, manufacture
and produce profiles to suit budget and the individual’s
production needs. Steel Purlins are widely used on steel roof
structures and steel deckings and are light in weight, but designed
to take maximum hurricane winds.
We understand
that the Galvanizing Industry is very competitive,
but we are urged on by the Department of Trade and Industry
to generate more resources in the dormant Free State Province.
